Julie Anne Collier, of Wingmasters in Massachusetts, presents a live raptor program that incorporates five live birds that may include: hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons. Her presentation, packed with stories, gives an overview of these different birds and explains predation, the birds’ place at the top of the food web, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. Because many birds of prey are declining in number, this presentation also features one or more of the endangered raptors that Wingmasters cares for, and explains why these species face an uncertain future. There will be two shows. All ages are welcome!
This free community event for children and adults is made possible by a grant from the Local Cultural Council of Montague and through support from the Friends of Great Falls Discovery Center.
