Crossroads Event: Cutlery and Hand Tools

February 24, 2023

February 25 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm EST, FREE. Join silversmith Steve Smithers as he explores the story of the first tradesmen/artisans who came to Greenfield and the surrounding towns in the late 18th century, which eventually led to the emergence of the great metal industries of our region. Steve will also discuss and demonstrate the tools and techniques of these early makers. Then, get your hands on some locally made tools as long-time museum volunteer and vintage tool restorer Marc Fournier leads a hands-on tool clinic and explores the history of the area’s tool making companies.
