Performances take place at parks all over town. Join DCR staff at 2:00 p.m. at Unity Park for live music\, family-friendly activities\, and a kids’ costume parade making its way to including the Great Falls Discovery Center. At 3:00 p.m.\, Travis Laplante plays hypnotic and innovative solo saxophone music outside Great Falls Discovery Center. Take a moment to read our outdoor StoryWalk®\, Mole Music by David McPhail. Then\, the music walk continues to the next stop. All performances and events are wheelchair accessible\, open to all\, and free\, with suggested donations going to the Nolumbeka Project in support of the Pocumtuck Homelands Festival. The festival is supported by Greenfield Cooperative Bank\, RiverCulture\, New England Public Media (NEPM)\, and Mass Cultural Council. Join ornithologist Zeke Jakub of Conservación Panamá for one or more FREE hour-long birdwatching adventures. These walks introduce you to these fabulous migratory birds along the Connecticut River. Learn about conservation research and actions\, and what you can do. For ages 14 and up. Bring binoculars and a bird field guide if you have them\, dress for the weather\, and wear sturdy shoes. Makes for an easy stroll for adults and children ages 8 and up. Be prepared for cold weather\, dress in layers. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Walk begins at the front entrance to the Great Falls Discovery Center. Inclement weather or icy trail conditions cancels. Meet at the main entrance. This the same time as our regular weekly Friday Nice & Easy Walk\, so we’ll do it all at once!
